  26.             Our mission at AFSCC-K is to support and promote the use  of
  27.             supercomputing  throughout  the  Air  Force. To this end, we
  28.             will provide the most modern  supercomputers  and  auxiliary
  29.             computing  equipment  to  our  users,  wherever they may be.
  30.             Access to our computers is available either locally at Kirt-
  31.             land  AFB or remotely, through high-speed data communication
  32.             networks. In addition, we will provide training in supercom-
  33.             puting  to users and potential users both at Kirtland and at
  34.             remote sites.

  36.             Facilities at AFSCC-K include the following systems:

  38.                  o+    Cray-2: 4 CPUS, each capable of  488  Mflops  peak
  39.                       speed, 256 MW common memory, 24.4 GB of local disk
  40.                       space,  CTSS operating system with UNIX  utilities
  41.                       running under CTSS.

  43.                  o+    Cray-1/S: 1 CPU capable of 160 Mflops peak  speed,
  44.                       4 MW memory, 4.8 GB local disk space, CTSS operat-
  45.                       ing system
  46.  
  47.                  o+    Common File System (CFS): Controlled by  dedicated
  48.                       IBM  4381  computers,  it  offers 120 GB of online
  49.                       disk storage and unlimited offline tape storage.

  82.             the  computing  facilities  at  AFSCC-K.   The  governmental
  83.             organization overseeing the contract must provide the  fund-
  84.             ing  and management for the computer accounts.  To establish
